Content Freeze
As of July 25th, 2023, there is a content freeze on this page.
Floating license seat activation requires that your Profound.js / Profound API instances are able to communicate with Profound Logic’s licensing server over the Internet via HTTPS. The licensing server URL is:
https://licensing.profoundlogic.com
Product instances automatically communicate with the licensing server when started/ended to activate and deactivate seats. Instances also send a periodic heartbeat signal to the licensing server that allows the licensing server to keep the seat active. Product instances require an authorization code to authenticate to the licensing server.
All communications with the licensing server are logged to a file on the local file system:
- For instances on IBM i managed by STRTCPSVR: /profoundjs-base/instances/INSTANCE_NAME/logs/floating-license.log
- For all other scenarios: INSTANCE_INSTALL_DIRECTORY/logs/floating-license.log
The licensing server is deployed on redundant cloud architecture for high availability.
If your target systems are not able to communicate with the licensing server URL directly, you may set up a forward proxy server in your network to direct requests to the licensing server. Configuration and management of proxy servers is outside the scope of Profound Logic technical support.
