Ownership of Workstation Devices
This feature requires Version 6 Fix Pack 2.0 or higher.
By default, workstation devices that are automatically created by Genie will be owned by the user of the HTTP server job. The user of the HTTP sever job will differ, depending on how the user authenticates. When HTTP server authentication is used or if launching from Atrium, the HTTP server job user will be the user profile that signed into the HTTP server or Atrium. Otherwise the HTTP server job user will be QTMHHTP1. To specify a different user profile for ownership of workstation devices, the environment variable PUI_WORKSTN_OWNER can be set to the desired profile in the HTTP server configuration file. The HTTP server configuration file is located at /www/INSTANCE_NAME/conf/httpd.conf. The default instance name is PROFOUNDUI.
Example
User WSOWNER will own auto-created workstation devices
SetEnv PUI_WORKSTN_OWNER WSOWNER
The user profile must be enabled. If the user profile has a password associated with it, then the password must not be expired. The following system-supplied user profiles cannot be used:
QAUTPROF QDLFM QMSF QSNADS QTSTRQS QCLUMGT QDOC QNETSPLF QSPL QCOLSRV QDSNX QNFSANON QSPLJOB QDBSHR QFNC QNTP QSRVAGT QDBSHRDO QGATE QPEX QSYS QDFTOWN QLPAUTO QPM400 QTCP QDIRSRV QLPINSTALL QRJE QTFTP
